St. John's Byzantine Catholic Cathedral - Ruthenian Archeparchy of Pittsburgh - Cantors
George is a life-long member of the Cathedral Parish and a graduate of St. John’s Cathedral School. In addition to assisting as a cantor, George is an usher and worked in the Parish’s catering project at the Cathedral Center. George also authored the history of the published in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh that is on the Archeparchy’s website.
George graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and cum laude from Duquesne University School of Law where he was an articles editor for its Law Review. As a practicing attorney for more than 33 years, George is First Assistant Solicitor for Allegheny County and legal counsel to several local municipalities and zoning hearing boards.
A former adjunct professor of law at the Duquesne University School of Law and a former member of the Allegheny County Redevelopment Authority, George currently is an examiner for the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners where he assists in the grading the semiannual bar examination. He just completed two terms as the Chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Municipal and School Solicitor Section and is a former member of the Bar Association’s Judiciary Committee.
Jane has been a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Munhall, PA.
Her maternal grandfather (John Ivan) was a founding member of the Church and also served as a Cantor. Her elementary schooling was at St. John’s Cathedral School under the tutelage of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great.
She has been involved in many of the Cathedral’s activities and clubs over the years and began cantoring the Cathedral’s Saturday Evening Divine Liturgy in July, 2009.
Jane works at a private consulting firm in Pittsburgh PA and holds the position of Administrative Manager. She has extensive work experience in the areas of executive administration, human resources, sales and management. She attended Munhall High School (now Steel Valley), the University of Pittsburgh and professional development courses focusing on Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Lean Manufacturing, ISO and Wilson Sales Training.
She resides in Munhall, PA.
Cindy Corbett is the wife of Deacon Tim Corbett and mother of Elizabeth Corbett.
She was born and raised in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and was baptized into the Byzantine Catholic Church as an infant at St. John the Baptist Church, Uniontown.
Cindy and Tim were married at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church on the Southside of Pittsburgh in October 1990.
Cindy has been a housewife and mother since the birth of her daughter in February, 1993. She enjoys volunteer work, helping out as cantor, sewing, baking and cooking.
